2026 Walk ALS Chicago

Team Kristofer

Kristofer Olson was a rock music aficionado, craft beer connoisseur, and an A/V expert. He was also well read and a thoughtful conversationalist - Kris had a keen wit and a great sense of humor!

In 2020 when Kris was struck with ALS, we were devastated and left with many questions. As of now, there are still no real answers for us or for anyone else with ALS. More research is needed to understand the disease process. We lost Kris to ALS in December 2024.

Team Kristofer - Melodie, Erik, Alex, Leea, Judy, Rachel, Kevin, Grace, and friends -  will be walking for our third year at Cantigny Park this May 30th, honoring his life as we spread awareness to help fund treatments and, ultimately, a cure for ALS.

Amyotropic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.

Please help us raise awareness by joining our team, or if you're able, by making a donation in Kristofer's memory. Thank you!
