Andy's Army

Thanks for visiting Andy's Army team page! Together we are making a difference not only in Andy's life, but also in the lives of many others who are impacted by this debilitating disease.

Andy was diagnosed with ALS in August 2024 - a diagnosis that shocked and devastated all who know him. Andy was an avid marathoner, triathlete, Ironman finisher, and remains an all around supportive, upbeat, and good-humored human.

The least we can do is run this marathon to raise funds for those with ALS and also support the research to find a cure. Please join us and help us provide care, advocacy, and research to find treatments and a long overdue cure.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.

Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes someone else loses their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.

This is why challenging ALS is important to us. To bring hope. To raise awareness. To provide resources and services to families free of charge. We are asking for your help. Please donate and help defeat ALS!
