Welcome to My Personal Page
I’m joining Team ALS in honor of my Uncle, Steven Burke, who was diagnosed with ALS in the fall of 2024. To know Uncle Steven was to know unwavering support and love, he would give you the shirt off his back and ask for nothing in return, except maybe just to laugh at his dad jokes. He became a father figure in my life, and ALS took him from us far too early. I'm joining Team ALS to raise funds and awareness to help fight back against this terrible disease. ALS United Greater Chicago provides much needed patient services resources, funds global, cutting-edge research, and much more in order to help those living with ALS right in our community. For those who don’t know, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. For Uncle Steven, it was 1 year. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure. Team ALS is an exciting opportunity for us to work together to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of the urgency of our cause and to push for treatments and a cure. Please help me raise funds in honor of Uncle Steven, so we can make ALS a livable disease until no one has to loose a family member to ALS
