Thank you for contributing to our ALS Walk fundraising goal! Each year the walk raises funds to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.
My brother-in-law, Todd, has been a true fighter against such an ugly disease. It has completely altered the day to day lives of their family and they could really use our support.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis, but Todd's health has declined at a very accelerated rate. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure. The hope with these events is to both raise awareness as well as support funding for more research.
