Running the Chicago Marathon for Michael Lavelle
Always Lavelle Strong
This October, I’m running the Chicago Marathon in honor of my brother-in-law, Michael Lavelle, and his brave fight against ALS.
Michael faced ALS with courage, strength, and an unshakable spirit that inspired everyone who knew him. His determination and love continue to guide us every single day.
To honor his memory, I’ve joined Team Always Lavelle Strong running 26.2 miles to celebrate his life and to raise funds to support families impacted by ALS and drive research toward a cure.
Why We Run
ALS takes so much, but together we can give back:
✔ Funding life-changing research
✔ Providing care and support for ALS families
✔ Fighting for a world without ALS
Every step of this marathon is for Michael and his legacy, his laughter, and the love he shared so freely.

This race is for Michael. For all those impacted by ALS. And for the hope of a cure.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.
