Welcome to My Personal Page
Almost from the moment I was diagnosed, ALS United and the associated community of volunteers and patients have been both a comfort and a resource for physically and mentally dealing with this debilitating disease. This community has quickly become a key support group for us in navigating this terrible disease. From voice amplifiers, shower seats and grab bars to the promise of other equipment we'll need in the future as well as the advice and support to go with it, is beyond reassuring and quite overwhelming. We are so grateful and can't thank the organization enough. They all have a special place in our hearts, THANK YOU!
What ALS Is:
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.
