Hey Everybody
Dear friends and family,
I am reaching out to you today as I prepare to run the Chicago Marathon in honor of my grandma, Sandy, who passed away from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in 2012. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a devastating neurodegenerative disease that robs individuals of their ability to move, speak, and eventually, breathe. While my grandma fought against this terrible disease, her strength and resilience never wavered which continues to inspire me every day.
She was not only a loving and caring Grandmother, Wife and Mother; she was also a sweet and compassionate person who always put the needs of others before her own. She was the type who would go out of her way to help anyone in need. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of many and her memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
I am raising funds for ALS research and advocacy efforts by running the Chicago Marathon. Last year, I ran the NYC Marathon for Team ALS and it was one of the best days of my life. This year, I am again dedicating my run to my grandmother in the hopes of raising awareness and funds to support those affected by ALS. Your donation, no matter how big or small, will help fund crucial research that could one day lead to a cure for this disease.
Thank you for considering a donation - Together, we can make a difference and honor her legacy of kindness and compassion. Let's run for a cure and bring hope to those battling ALS.
