Welcome to My Personal Page
In March 2020, Kathy was diagnosed with ALS. While the care she received from her neurologist and the ALS Care Services team was amazing and supportive, ALS was very aggressive. On 8/2/2020 Kathy passed away. Kathy loved her entire family and the many people she met during her travels.
It’s for Kathy - aka Goofy Grape - that I participate in the annual ALS Walk fundraiser. The Walk raises funds to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.
